ABOUT US

Our Story

It goes back a century and involves a little beer ‘royalty.’

In 1915, Henry and Peter Hodde (rhymes with “Hottie”), sons of Helena Busch (yes, that Busch), launched the Hodde Bros Beverage Company, the first Budweiser distributor in Detroit.

In 1920, Prohibition forced a shift in focus, and “Hodde Dew” cola was born. (“Howdy do,” get it?  Olden times sure were quaint.)

Hodde Dew would eventually be bought and absorbed by a larger pop-maker (we won’t name names).  But Hodde Bros Beverage Company continued to thrive, serving the greater Detroit area well into the 1970s.

Now, bringing a century of tradition with us, the Hodde Bros Beverage Company has ventured west, offering custom cocktail catering, staffing and mobile bar services to Southern California, the West Coast and beyond.
